Proposal and Technical Writer

The Opportunity: 

Edsembli is seeking a seasoned professional to join their commercial team as Proposal and Technical Writer. The company is a specialized software solutions vendor that provides a cloud administrative platform for the K-12 education sector. It serves over 1.7-million students across North America, providing HR and Payroll, Finance and a Student Information System.

• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and lead Edsembli’s commercial proposal and RFP response activities
• Lead project teams that deliver proposal responses with persuasive themes, strong value propositions and other elements to ensure winning bids
•  Collaborative with all areas of the business in order to respond to and serve customer expectations

Responsibilities:

As the Proposal and Technical Writer, your role makes a major contribution to the company’s commercial performance: 

• Understand RFP and procurement processes and policies of the K-12 education sector
• Perform detailed analysis of RFP/RFQ/RFI documents to assess requirements
• Author questions and clarify requirements to reduce risk/improve probability of winning
• Prepare responses to RFP’s and sole-source procurement inquiries 
• Collaborate with the internal stakeholders to ensure high quality product is produced 
• Develop compelling proposal narratives that demonstrate the company’s value proposition
• Maintain a repository of content artifacts that can be reused 
• Act as project manager for RFP responses including leading kick-off meetings, assigning and coordinating tasks across the stakeholder team
• Provide technical writing support to the Product and Development teams
• Work with regional sales executives to deliver responses to customers and third-party brokers
• Collaborate with the Edsembli Legal and Finance & Admin teams to ensure all commercial responses meet legal, commercial, and financial standards of care
• Continually enhance content artifacts and proposal libraries 
• Monitor procurement boards, external sites throughout North America, and all other sources of release to build the proposal funnel

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in proposal writing, bid submission and RFP response
• Practical experience as a proposal writer with understanding of response strategy/tactics
• Practical experience with writing and managing RFP responses in the $40,000-$500,000 range
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, and negotiating to influence or impact
• Strong experience in project management and scheduling
• Experience in a software solutions, SaaS and/or professional consulting environment is an asset.
• Demonstrated familiarity with the North American education K-12 sector is an asset
